Default Agent 47s Installed...

A few weeks ago I bought some unused Agent 47 mirrors from another member here, brand new and never installed. They were the generation I version that needed to be prepped and painted before installed so I thought I'd try tackling it myself after getting some pretty high quotes. So I sanded them down with 1000 grit and then washed them with a wet rag. After they dried I did two coats of Krylon Fusion black and then one coat of Valspar clear coat. The clear doesn't look as good as I'd hoped, but all in all I'm really happy with the result... especially since it only cost about $13 to do. :-)

Sorry, only have one pic right now... will try to get a few better ones up tomorrow.

Nice, I love 'em.

Wish I'd luck onto some lightly used or new and not installed torch red mirrors!

looks like you painted them flat/satin black instead of gloss black and then cleared over them? Maybe thats why the clear doesn't look right to you?

I was thinking the same thing, I would have painted the cups body color personally.

I'm one of the few that doesn't like the design of the Agent 47 mirrors.

That certainly looks better...but is much harder to do on your own when compared to rattle canning it.

That's the exact reason I didn't paint the cups red... try color matching Dark Candy Apple Red. :-)

I definitely wanted to get the cups painted, but I'm not gonna drop $150-$200 (quotes I got) to have them done.

I actually like the 2010 mirrors a little more because the actual mirror is significantly larger and easier to see with... but they were quite a bit more pricey than the Agent 47s.

Clear in a rattle can will hardly get glossy since it doesn't have hardener.
It also won't age very good for the same reason...

Semi glass black is the way to go IMO.

Your end result looks good though, that's all that matters.
