Stock Window tint value
Hey I was wondering if anyone new what the stock 07 GT window tint is? In talking to a tint shop, they say that my side windows are already at the 70% limit that California allows. I can't see that it has much tint at all and would like to go darker but don't feel like getting tickets.
I wasn't going to black out the side windows but just wanted to get more tint on the sides and go with 30% in the rear.
Anybody have experience in Cali?

No experience in cali, but the standard factory UV tint is like 94%.. originally I wanted 35% tint and the shop put on 40% because of the 5-6% already on there.
In my experience, this is hardly enough tint, I changed mine to 20%, but in cali you probably want to be wary.

Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 4 inches of the windshield. Front Side Windows Must allow more than 70% of light in. Back Side Windows Any darkness can be used. Rear Window Any darkness can be used.

I would not think that the windows are already at 70% At least not with mine. Maybe the cars going to California have factory tinted glass? Ask if they have a meter and see what you can go with instead of just eyeballing and guessing.

I like the meter idea. I'll see if the shop has one. My wifes Highlander is a heck of a lot darker than mine and hers is a stock tint. Maybe the shop thought i had a factory tint. Thanks for the input.
