Default Headlight Headache

Not too long ago I purchased a used pair of the headlights below. Being a bit intimated by the install and my lack of wiring knowledge I decided I would get a third party to install them. Long story short the guy did an awful job and I had to redo the entire install minus the wiring.

Where I'm at now is the left side bulb is somewhat loose, the right side bright bulb is either burnt out or there is a wire problem, and they still are not aimed properly. I'm stuck at this point using my fogs as my main lights and just having the 5 LEDs on each light on, which is not giving me nearly enough visibility.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had experience with these headlights, as well as if it is possible to switch out the bulbs in my fogs to something a little brighter and aim them higher so that i can use them as my mains

The 'fog' light assemblies have the reflectors in
them to make them wide dispersal 'fog' lights.
Brighter or more wattage bulbs (if you could find them)
would do nothing for the light dispersal of a fog pattern.

So no, you cant put brighter or higher wattage bulbs
in your fogs and aim them higher to facilitate using
them as headlights.
Those dont even use the correct H13 bulb as the S197s.
Junk them and put the OEMs back in and hope the wire hack
job does not come back to haunt you. Nothing is gained
by used cheap junk parts on the S197. They were used
for a reason. Think about it. I have never removed a
good mod and tried to sell it... Just bad mods that didnt
work out for me.

BUT BUT! They retail for $250 that means they must be good! kidding aside i appreciate the response and must agree that these lights are just no good. It's a shame because the side LED's on them do look amazing if nothing else

i had them for a while and hated them....they looked cool with the led strip but their light output is terrible, i even had special ordered lights bulbs that were $80 for a set....i had to use my fog lights as my primary means of lighting at night....id never recommend them...
