Default Redfire Paint question

THhe paint code G2 is redfire and im painting 1/4 window louvers and was wondering if the primer has to be a gray or silver? Help!

Doesn't matter...
Redfire covers pretty good as long as it's professional product, not from a rattle can.

Would the silver bring out the matalic flake better than gray or dont matter there either?

I believe the base coat from the factory on redfire mustangs is silver. if you have any chips in your paint youll be able to see down to the base coat and check. either way, gray or silver, i dont believe itll make a difference.

You believe wrong I'm afraid.
The factory uses a grayish etch primer on the bare metal, then it's straight to the base color that is selected for a particular car and the clear finishes the whole deal.

It would be too costly for Ford to use a sealant before applying the color, and the advantage would be minimal.
