Redfire Paint question
#5
I believe the base coat from the factory on redfire mustangs is silver. if you have any chips in your paint youll be able to see down to the base coat and check. either way, gray or silver, i dont believe itll make a difference.

You believe wrong I'm afraid.
The factory uses a grayish etch primer on the bare metal, then it's straight to the base color that is selected for a particular car and the clear finishes the whole deal.
It would be too costly for Ford to use a sealant before applying the color, and the advantage would be minimal.
