Default Roush leather seat covers

I just bought a set of Roush leather seat covers and am wondering if any of you folks have installed a set of these? Any tips/advice/"gotchas" you could share would be greatly appreciated. Hope to install these in the next couple of weeks if the weather warms up enough for me to be out in the garage for an extended period of time. Thanks in advance!

Jim

Here is a step by step video on the install. It should be just what you need to tackle the job.

Make sure you buy new hog rings. You can try reusing the old ones, but it's a pain. It's easier to cut the old ones off and install new ones with your new seat covers. Also regular plyers worked better then the hog ring plyers, just because you don't have a lot of room to get your hands in there.

I bought the Dark Charcoal with dove gray inserts. Roush overstock on Ebay has had several of these up for sale over the past few weeks. Since I was upgrading from cloth to leather I also had to purchase the OCS service pack for the passenger seat which replaces the seat cushion with an upgraded OCS sensor for the airbag.

I also just bought some Roush leather covers on Ebay for my 07 GT, so I'd like any installation tips as well.

A couple things I've read so far:

I read that using zip ties instead of hog rings is an option. They supposedly work just as well and are easier to install. I question whether they will last?

A heat gun has been suggested to aid installation if the weather is cool. I'll be installing mine soon in Michigan, so I picked up a heat gun at Harbor Freight for $10 this weekend.

I'm upgrading from cloth also, so I can't wait to get these installed.

I was just looking at some. Did you buy the dove grey ones for the entire car or just the fronts? How much total cost? I saw some RTC Roush ones for $250 (starting bid) but it says for leather seats only. I have cloth and want to upgrade to leather.

any of you wanna let go of your cloth seat covers? my end goal is to swap out my entire tan interior to a darker one and I think I will have to accumulate pieces along the way... lol
