Quarter Window Louvers - 3m tape question
I recently purchased the pre-painted quarter window louvers from AM and they come with the 3m double sided sticky tape. I read the reviews and several people had issues with the double sided tape provided. I am thinking of buying better 3M tape to make sure there will be no issues.
Anyone have any issues with the tape on the louvers?

What color is the tape? Gray with Red cover or white with green/white cover?
The gray stuff is meant to install on cars and as long as you use alcohol to prep the part it's going to contact on the car, it should be fine. The white stuff is crap (home use stuff). 3m gray stuff is better and will say (moulding tape) on the package.

You should be fine. It's a smiliar type of tape. It should be maybe an 1/8" thick at most and not overly squishy like foam.
When you put on louvers you should take your time and keep pressure on each louver for abotu 30 seconds. This gives teh tape time to bond. Do it in the shade, not sun and when the car is cool to the touch. Be sure to use alcholol on the area before the tape contacts the the body/glass of the car.

I used the tape that AM provides. As long as you prep it right you'll be fine. I had one side peel off a little and had to re-do it, but the other side worked out. I admit that I rushed the side that had the problems.
