Ok, I've decided I'm going to get the rims! My only question now is to stagger or not (255's/front and 275's/rear). Since I have a v6 convertible I'm really more concerned about the "show" over the "go". I do appreciate good handling though. I love the staggered look. It's very aggressive and has that classic muscle car appearance.

My car is a daily driver... how much does staggering hurt the life of the tires since you can't rotate them? Also, am I more prone to tramlining with wider tires in the back?

Tire life can be just fine between front and rears providing you're not doing burnouts, the car's alignment is good, you don't take corners too aggressively all the time... I haven't rotated the tires on my SUV and after 45,000 miles, the only thing noticeable are the outer edges on the front tires wearing a bit more than the rear due to my aggressive cornering. And I haven't rotated the tires on my Stang in over 24,000 miles and they are wearing darned near identical.

The rear tires don't play as much a role in tramlining as the front tires.

I think you answered your own question. Go for it!

Go for the staggered look. With some 295/45/18's in the back rims. That's what I ran for years before swapping them for something smaller last week since im saving for my wedding and funds are low haha

If you think funds are low now, wait until "the wife" decides you need new furniture, carpeting, blah blah blah...

I just pulled the trigger and ordered 18x9's with 255's/front and 18x10's with 275/rear with NITTO Extreme Performance NT555 tires. I'm psyched! Thanks for everyone for all your input.

Beware of cold weather. That compound will become hard as a rock in temps from about 45 degrees on down and traction goes out the window. And as far as winter driving, make sure you have good insurance.

I'm going to put my stock rims/wheels back on during the winter. I want to keep the chrome in perfect condition and road salt kills chrome!

Already bought a house last July and did all the new furniture and flooring. After the wedding I should have a lot more cash to play with
