Default Antenna Delete?

Hey guys I was looking at buying one of the shorty antennas to replace that ugly stock antenna. I was wondering if they had a plug style antenna that sits almost flush? What have you guys done with your antennas. I do like my music and dont want to drastically hurt my range.

Thanks
Kevin

You can chop it down to 8 inches with a noticeable differences. Otherwise buy a 4 inch from AM

Am only has down to 8 inch.
Could find a window mounted one and plug the stock hole but that can get expensive

Yep, Jegs has the hidden antenna on sale this month
and the antenna delete thread is around here somewhere.

I dropped to the 14" shorty and noticed a minor drop in range (I had a lot of data as I used to run 400 miles one-way every 2 weeks and knew where I'd lose about 4 FM stations. After the change to the 14", I was losing each roughly 20-40 miles sooner). I'm sure the loss with the 8" would be even more significant and that the 4" would be only tolerable if you stayed close to the transmitters.

I went to an 8 and lost 2 or 3 stations when I cross a road South of where I rarely cross. IMO it was worth it.

When I went to a 14" I noticed only the tiniest drop in range. I make frequent trips to Dayton/Cincy and my favorite radio station from closer to Columbus used to cut out about 70 miles outside of home, and now it happens around 10 miles sooner. As for deletes, there is a thread somewhere about this guy who put his antenna in the a-pillar trim or some such.

Obviously, that one doesn't help your FM range...

I have this one on my car and it works okay with FM. (I only listen to Pandora in my car)
