Default Spray on

Saw some tutorials for using "plasti-dip" to get that matte black look for the gt badges and the faux gas cap. Could I use this method to see how flat black stripes would look. From what I can tell this doesn't damage the original paint as it will just peel off when you're ready to take it off. My question is what are your thoughts on using it to cover a horrid stripe job that was painted on by the cars last owner (I just got the car).

Post a pic of your car. What kind of stripes do you have now?
If possible, I would use pre-cut vinyls over plastidip.

I've seen a few people who have used Plasti-dip to make stripes on their cars. Looked pretty good and it does peel off with no damage to the paint. I don't know how it would look trying to cover up a crappy stripe job but give it a shot. If it doesn't work all you've wasted is a little time and about 8 bucks.

I think I'll try it tonight before a local car meet.

If the stripes have edges they could be visible thru the dip. I did some wheels and some flaws were visible. Stuff doesn't go on very thick. I would try anyway.

If I recall correctly, I saw a post where someone sprayed plastidip over their existing stripes and it looked good. If you haven't already, try the search function.
