Rim size without lowering???
Wheel size doesn't matter as long as you maintain close to the original OE tire OD of 27.something "'s. Personally, I'd put a 15" wheel on my '07 if it would clear the brakes. I hate my 18's; no frickin' sidewall and we all klnow that sidewall is sexy. Those 20's and larger wheels are for clown cars.
With that said, I definitely prefer sidewall over lots of wheel. 18's and big meats for me. 275/45 for now, and if I ever drive this car enough to wear them out, I'll get wider wheels and go 295/45.

Yes, I've seen a few with 20's that have pulled it off but only a small fraction of the 20's I've seen.
274/45 is NOT big meat or at least not to those of us that remember what a muscle car had for rubber. My wife's 235/55/17's put my 275/40/18's to shame and even HERS have marginally acceptable sidewall.
We had a few vintage Stangs at our weekly Stang club meet the other day. Nothing like 60 and 70 series RWL tires on 15" wheels. Gives me wood just thinkin' about it.

Regardless of which wheels you choose, lowering the car makes it look better. Also, performance wise, the car hugs the road much tighter, especially around corners and turns. =-)
As far as ride quality, 20" wheels are a bit harsher ride than the 18" wheels.
