That tape will really hold the moisture once exposed to the elements.
I give it a year before corrosion sets in and the LEDs quit working.

BTW, 12V LEDs are available and do not require resistors.
A better way would be to use a voltage regulator for longer LED life.
Resistors are current based and when the vehicles voltage goes up
and down, the current also goes up and down...

Also ANY blue lights on a common vehicle in my state is highly illegal and
will get you a ticket right quick...

12 volt LEDs just have the proper resistor built in. I put this together with parts from the junk bin so a simple current limiting circuit is all I needed. I also calculated the resistor value based on 14 volts so even with the raise and fall everything is still safe. If it corrodes of fails I'll just make another one. Making stuff is fun!

Nice job! Got any better pics? How bright is it because like 147 said, blue lights can get you in trouble. Although I see more and more cars on the road with blue turn signals, blue reverse lights, blue led strips behind the grille makes me wonder if cops really care.

Ya ill try and upload more. Its not super bright, but bright enough to get the point across. You really cant see it much behind my billet grille cover.

Mine wasnt as nice and neat as yours ford a tude lol. Some outdoor double sided tape held the leds nice though. Getting the pony to stay put on the grille was the hard part. I had broken the tabs off when I took off the pony to put on my grille cover. I had the pont mounted on my dash. I basically held it to the grille and used super strength super glue and just squirted it around the edges of the pony and held it with tape over night. Its not going anywhere lol
