Anyone have suggestions on what to do about third brake light? Installed the gen 5 lights and they look great. Parked the car out in the sun and noticed that bright red looking (still factory) third brake light. Thought to myself, that has to be changed but to what???? I keep reading about problems with the smoked LED light from AM staying on?

I have the AM smoked third brake light and I gave no problems with it staying lit, but I also have a pulser wired inline with it so that's probably draining the residual voltage. BTW the pulser is a must have really catches the drivers attention behind, and can prevent being rear ended.

Did you have to cut and splice for the pulser or is it plug and play? Also where can I purchase one that will work on a 2008 GT? Sorry for so many questions. Thanks!!!

My 3rd brake light is LED and I don't have any problems with afterglow. I didn't have to use any kind of resistors either. You can see it in my sig picture.

I have the led brake light from AM and it stays on very dim! I have to put a resistor in it!

You do have to cut and splice, but it's not a big deal.

I use Posi-lock connectors they are awesome used them for years on everything with no problems, interior and exterior wiring, plus they are reusable, if you decided to remove your strobe controller you remove it and use them to reconnect your existing wiring.

these are the links to purchase both items, you need 4 posi-locks but they come in a pack of 5 so your good.
