Default Removing the baffel in the Stock intake

I have heard of this being done and the Stang runnig better. Also picking up a few HP.
Will this damage the engine or effect the warranty?
My 05 runs great but if I could gain a few HP for free ???? What the hell.
I'll do it.
Any one done this??

Yep.. It's there. Not sure how to remove it yet. It's kind of molded in. I WILL figure it out.
Is it safe?

You probably will soon have a dozen folks tellin you to yank it out. I did mine a year ago with no problems at all. The rubber lip of the air intake holds it in, but you can work it out of there. Most of us have done it.

I think the technical name for it is a Moisture Collection Device, it is supposed to help trap humidity and stop it from getting into the engine, all while constricting the breathing process its trying to do, lol

they say even a KNN drop in filter requires a retune, so I'd have to say yes you'll prolly need a small tune

I did mine several months ago. Not too hard. Used pliers and some lubricant to help slide it out. Think I used a little spray silicon.

I didn't get a "re-tune". Can't see that you need it Could be wrong. It is not a really "dense" airflow block. Maybe if you squished it all done you might find it is maybe 15% of the intakes cross section. My naive thought was that we don't need to retune the critters if the air filter gets dirty, do we?

I never heard of anybody getting a retune after doing this. I sure didnt need one. And there was a magazine article a year or so ago that told of getting about 6 horse or so, I think it was, by removing it.
