Well saturday i went to the malibu canyons for fun. On the way home some GTO comes next to me and starts revving his engine. oooo this is gonna be fun. Well we gun it and i was up front for awhile. Then the GTO started catching up slowly and eventually passed me. I was very disappointed in the GTO because thats a supposedly 400HP beast!!!! I know he had some modifications done to it because it sounded very mean. I would of thought the GTO would of wiped me out but he barely beat me. Damn their 6th gear. [:@] All i had done to my mustang was the C&L CAI, tune from breenspeed, and Ark Speed Racing exhaust. Maybe one more upgrade to the stang and i could of beat the GTO!!!

maybe he didn't know how to drive, with all my mods my buddies 05 6.0 still walks on me in third, we have switched cars then I walk on him in third. the goats are quite fast being the overweight cars that they are. keep in mind they may have 400HP but we weigh 600lbs less.

I ran one this weekend, We were both crusing and he gave me the nod so I dropped from 5th to 3rd and was edging him for a while, but just like you said, they start to wind and he started coming back on me. I missed fourth and it was all over.

but like you said, I wasn't impressed at all. I thought it would have been pretty sad, but we can definetly run with them.

How the hell do you miss fourth. I could see missing 3rd or 5th but not 2nd or 4th.

Pre 2005 the GTO had 350 HP. My guess is you were probably running against the lower-powered version. The 400 HP versions are running low-13's bone stock according to the GTO forums.

The pre GTO are the 5.7 liter engines. I was racing the 6.0 becuase i saw that emblem. Oh and believe me he wasnt toying with me. He knew what was going on. Just didnt feel impressed what a 400HP GTO can do. Oh and when i went to drag strip i saw a GTO running in the 16s. Umm maybe the guy didnt know how to drive but friends say they see GTOs in the drags and not really running impressive times. Meh thats why i bought a stang.

A buddy of mine has the 6.0 GTO, he puts down consistant 13.4's and he needs a new clutch with just a catback and a factory replacement K&N filter.

same here i raced one this saturday goin bout 35 and i was slowly pullin away in 2nd then i hit 3rd and it was over, he flew by me. all i have on mine is flowmasters though. but when i get the c&l kit we're gonna run again to see how much closer i will come. it's hard to run with a beast that big
