Brenspeed Tune Vs Evoperformance Tune
I have been hearing alot about custome tuners out there and how good they are and when making my choice of a custome tune for my mods on my mustang i was reallly confused by all the diffrent opinions in this forum. So i decided to do a small experiment and find out my self and this was not cheap but was honestly worth it and worth the pain and money for others on this forum to get a little more info before they make thier choice. Now not many of you are newbees to tunes and mods but also many are as i was one of those. I hope by writing this i dont offend any one or use this opinion as a fact but as an opinion of a guy who did want to find the best answer to which tuner to go to.My experiment was to get 3 diffrent tuners and buy from them each a tune for my sctxcal2 to accomedate my mods in my 2005 black pearl mustang gt Automatic tranny. 1st tune was from evoperformance by fred,,2nd tune was by brenspeed and finally 3rd tune was by sct. Prices are not important and wont be listed here. Anyways to go on i first tried evo performance tune. The tune was really aggresive made the sound of my car hell of a muscle sounding car and the performance was really good. What really was amazing about this tune was not only was it as aggresive as brenspeed and much more than sct but i also noticed that my mustang top speed was not capped and that the car stayed on the forth gear untill it reached 240 kph and then switched to fifth gear and while the speedometer was at the end of its limite and the maximum speed was reached that the rpm odometer kept moving slowly towards 4th 5th and even 6th the car kept on speeding more. That was really impresive. The shrpened shiftness of the gears was also awsome and very quick. 2nd i installed the brenspeed tune, which was nearly excatly the same as evoperformance except the sound of the car was not at all impressive and was as normal as the factory sound was, The sharpeness and firm shiftness through gears was impresive not bad at all but felt a little slower and less agressive than evoperformance tune. Also i found out that the speed was capped to 240 kph and that the odometer for speed and rpm stayed stuck at 240 kph and 5th revelimit. Finally i tred the sct tune which was a little better than the custome ford tune preloaded in the mustang 2005. Gear shift firmness was normal nothing impressive and the top speed of course 240 with rev stuck to 5th rpm and offcourse the sound was match to the stock tune in mustang. Not impresive at all but better than the tune preloaded by ford. So of all the 3 tunes i purchased and tested in my opinion fred at evoperformance tune was the best i have ever tried so far. Sound much more aggresive than any sound i have heard. Gear shift firmness and speed was really fast and hard. And best of all the top speed was uncapped and the car kept going on side by side my brothers Mercedes slk55 amg going at 260 kph. I state than i have nothing what so ever to gain from evoperformance or by any means marketing thier products and tunes. I only state what i have found out testing myself these tunes and in my opinion which people should go for and i would definatly recommend fred at evoperformance. You really will not be dissapointed at all.
Hope it was worth it for anyone still not knowing which tune to get.

Wow, lots of time put into this I see.
I've actually been looking into the Evo. Performance tune for my automatic V6. I've been scratching at the C&L and SCT-2 combo, and for $565 + $20 shipping, it's $100 cheaper than the competition (alternative auto and bamachips).
Thanks!

That's a nice test for Auto GT.
Someone willing to do the same for the V6??
Also, I suppose these are their stock tunes but Im sure you could go back and say change this and that?
I guess the true comparison would be to set the parameters you want and then get the tunes from them.
Kudos to OP for doing this.

[sm=goodidea.gif]Was nice of you to take the time and money to do this.
I havent messed with my user adjustable options on the SCT, but cant you change the limiter yourself? If not Im sure if it was a concern Brent could have included it in the tune.
P.S. someone steal your enter key? [sm=joke.gif]

He mentions about the added sound or aggressiveness after using your tune + CAI - I am using the Borla cat-back system and right now, my car sounds MEAN as ****. With your tune, it will sound meaner? I just don't understand where the extra sound will be coming from.... is it the engine or the exhaust? My borlas seem to be getting louder daily and I don't want my ears to be rumbling and I don't want to have tinidis by the time I take a long drive.
Please explain this to me. I am interested in your setup but need info in this area.

I agree, wished Bamachips tune was tried. I just loaded my in tonight after waiting four days for the usps to deliver it when it was sent priority overnight mail. But what a difference, I had a custom Diablo tune before and switched to Bamachips sct2 tune ,there is no comparison at least for the a/t.
