Has anyone bought thier chin spoilers painted?

How well was it done?

would you recommend painting on own with a good body shop?

 

which ones were you looking at? I think the CDC chins only come "painted" flat black.

Right, that's what I was trying to say. They offer it painted, but the only painted option is "textured black". If you want it black, I'd say buy it painted. If you want it to match your car, probably not much point in it... I plan on buying the CDC Classic here in the coming months, but since I want it painted to match I'll just get mine "raw".

Yeah, that fine print will get ya every time I'm planning to make a project out of it... probably painting the chin spoiler, calipers, and fixing a few chips in the paint while it's there. That way I'm gettin' my money's worth!

 

I went with the CDC Classic, and painted it with a can of flat black. Looks perfect.

 

I went with unpainted, and then had it painted for $160ish

I did order the Aggresive Spoiler in the textured black. It's not 'painted' but rather it's molded in black. Very similar to the front spoiler I had on my '69 Mach 1 as far as texture, etc. Will be installed next week, alogn with all the other body mods. Pictures are forthcoming.
