Default my clutch

well, as some of you might know i severely hurt my transmission a few months ago (grinded the crap out of when going from 5th to 4th and almost went into reverse by accident) my dad just told me to disregard it and its nothing serious, even though im constantly telling him it drives a hell of alot different (harder to shift) and well today i was riding myclutch like a **** trying to park it on a hill and throughout a really crowded parking lot and i started to smell this really realy nasty smell which i thought was my clutch so basically what im asking is, how can i tell when my clutch is about to give away (keep in mind, ive abused the crap out of this transmission/clutch, as its my first stick shift car lol)

also, my transmission was never fixed from that one event, just becuase my dad told me to disregard it so what im saying is were gonna try to get it fixed at the 3k mile checkup, if they were to "fix" it do you think it would ride the same or any performance loss?

If they fix your tranny, it should not make any differance in your ride. Performance should be the same as it was before. But I would have them check the flywheel and clutch closely to insure you don't have Heat Checks in the surface. If you do, they will have to resurface it. This should be done anyway if you put a new clutch in.

Good Luck
