If I wanted to get color side mirrors on my stang to match the performance white color. Are the painted or or do I buy them white?

I do not think theres an option for colored mirrors, the only ones I have seen are the ones on a new stage 3.

I know a few people that have painted their stock mirrors. They are not an option from directly from Ford.

Yea, I'm getting mine painted in the next month or two. Got quoted $200 to do the job. Worth it IMO. There are some covers that I've seen come out recently that add color to the mirrors.........but they only cover part of it. And no, as of now...there is no factory option for color matched sidemirrors[:'(]

You can get new covers painted to match a factory color for $64.95 plus shipping here. TB147 was right, though. These only cover a little over half of them.

Get them painted; don't go covers; $200 is low but ThisBlood147 has a package deal going so I can see that; I will tell you this. It took me 5-6 hours to get the two mirrors perfectly smooth, prepped in adhesion promoter and epoxy primer (then final wet sanded in 400) before the painter did the base and clear. (I'm not new to this stuff); Masking them off is not a quick job and you should tell them not to put masking tape on the soft foam on the back (except for a thin edge) If they do it will tear the soft foam big time when they pull the tape off. Course you won't know because the mirrors will be bolted back on. ...just an FYI; A paint shop cannot get them ready for base and clear any quicker than 4 hours; so when you add finish paint and labor it should cost a few hundred.

One guy out here had his painted but they messed up the communication somehow and they painted over the grainy plastic w/o smoothening them first. They must be perfectly smooth or you will see every imperfection. The result is only as good as the prep. Good luck... ....Jim

For that reason I decided to go with the previously mentioned painted 1/2 covers from MidwestAutoGear. They were a LOT cheaper than a paint job. Plus the color matches perfectly and no imperfections!
There are some full covers out there for our model but I didn't see any place that sold them pre-painted. Who's got the lime green stang with those???

Yours do look really good; I'm just a bit of an extreme purist so I went for the paint. One can remove them easily and sand them smooth yourself and then bring to paint for close to ThisBood147's $200; then simply bolt back in place yourself.

Anyone interested in sanding theirs smooth and need steps, just let me know. ...Jim

Nice looking "screamin yellow: ride you have there!!!!

I've been waiting to get this mod done as well, I would be interested in the steps for sanding them down and prepping them before I go to a shop. MY other problem is that I really don't want to leave my car at the shop for 2-3 days for them to paint the mirrors and have to get a rental car. I was actually even considering buying a set of new mirrors on eBay, getting those painted, putting them on my car and then selling mine to someone that wanted the same thing done. Then we could just be passing a set of mirrors amongst ourselves, getting them painted and passing the other set to the next person!
