improve 60 ft times?
i went to the track for the first time and ran a 13.7 @ 103 mph with a 2.2 60 ft time. my mods are intake, tune, o/r h pipe, bassani axle backs and steeda pullies. other than good tires any way to help improve the terrible 60 ft times?

I think you need to work on the driving skills first before you get gears.. With those mods you should be in the low 13's. When i get 2.2 60th i run 13.4-5 with 2.1 i get about 13.2. Thats in an auto, stick guys are faster
Here's a couple of things you can do and it won't cost you a penny.
1. Do like above and drop the pressure in your tires when you race but I wouldn't go below 20psi for fear of slipping the bead.
2. Spin your tires through the water prior to staging. People used to tell me that I didn't need to go through the water and heat up my tires because I wasn't running a slick or drag radial, which is correct, you don't need to heat your street tires but you will absolutely get your best traction with a clean dry tire. Clean them, every little bit helps. And just for the sake of mentioning, always back into the water so that you don't track it up to the starting line with your front tires and wonder why you didn't have any traction off the start.
3. Last, if you are racing a car that has a roll/sway bar installed on the front end, remove it when you race. Takes about 30 to 45 minutes to remove. Not only does it free up a little bit of weight, it lets your front struts extend further for better weight transfer to the rear. The roll bar is for better handling around turns, not for going straight ahead at the strip.
Not sure if it was all three or just one of these that helped but my 60' ft dropped by .15. Give it a shot, at least it won't cost you anything.
