I don't know what % mine is, but it's the darkest you can get in FL legally. I know, that didn't help much.

what do you mean VA is wose they only allow 50% front seat windows and then 35% rears

(remember the % is the amount of light let through lower number = less light = darker tint)

Generally the films are sold as 5%(limo), 20%(dark), 35%(medium), and 50%(light).

I'm in VA moved from MD experience with both and the wonderfull DC guys as well

MD laws = 5" visor on windsheild, 35% on the rest.

FL is 25% front ( I think ) and 15% back.

Some states lik NJ can't LEGALLY have any tint on the front seat windows but can go as dark as they want behind them.

I just had it done. Counting the factory amout the windows are tinted, the totals allowed for Virginia are 50% on front side windows and 65% for rear and quarter windows. Im quite sure this is correct. I have lived in Virginia for the last 16 years and this is the 9th car i have had the windows tinted in.

I think whoever is doing the tinting for you is quoting it backwards. As mattblasi said, the way tint is rated is by the amount of light it lets through. The Motor Vehicle web site explains this fairly well. So it is probably like this, 50% in the front and 35% in the back (100-65). 35% from behind the windshield seems to be a very common limit. -Joe
