The main attraction of E85 is that it has a ~105 octane rating, so the ignition timing can be further advanced allowing the engine to make more power. It's also much cheaper to buy than regular gasoline and cleaner burning.
However, it does have some downsides. E85 is corrosive to the OEM fuel system and is bad for the O2 sensors. It also has a 30% lower BTU rating than gasoline so you'd see a similar percentage drop in gas mileage. As long as the purchase price is at least 30% lower than the same volume of gasoline, there'll be a cost saving at the pump.
It's a question of whether you consider it worth the cost and hassle to modify the fuel system (tank, lines, higher flow injectors, dyno tune) to run the engine on E85. For many, the answer is no.

Mostly it burns slower and cooler, so effectively a higher "octane", although I don't believe it is a true OCTane, but some other -ane. Mostly the issue has to do with E85 eats the stock fuel lines (of the 05-09), so you would need to swap the fuel lines out as well as the fuel filter. The fuel injectors may also need to be swapped out since you need to flow about 30% more fuel to get the same power. Beyond that it's getting tuned to get the right air/fuel ratio (E85 is generally tuned much leaner than a straight gasoline or E10 blend. Also the ethanol attracts water so metal fuel tanks tend to corrode.

Yes, you have a new vehicle I'm old school. Yours was built either way, right?

Thanks
It will accept it but will eat through your fuel lines and fuel pump due to the 3v not being e85 compatible such as the new 5.0’s are. People think that doing a change to a 3v from fuel to ethanol is just a tune and a putting e85 but no there is alot of things you have to do, you have to change injectors, fuel lines, fuel pump, fuel rail lines and anything that won’t be compatible with e85, plus the tune.
