Default Car Alarm Help

when i got my 05 in about august the car alarm worked fine. now the only way it works is when i hit the panic button. i've tried the door and even reaching in and unlocking from the inside with my window rolled down. did i turn it off somehow? i tried looking in the manual for it but cant find anything... how do i fix this?

Is the anti-theft light blinking in your dash when you turn the alarm on?

Are you hitting the lock twice? If I understood right, You hit the lock button once to just lock the car (no sound). Then you hit it again and it arms the system and you hear a beep. Sorry, my car is new and it is always in a shop somewhere so I can't verify it. I've only driven it 3 times. -Joe

Without the option of Active antitheft, our cars still have an alarm....right? What do you have to do to trigger this alarm?

Without the option, I think it just has the unlock/lock feature... Why would we pay more for the Anti-theft alarm, if the car already has an alarm? Makes little sense.

Well, if you didn't get the Anti-theft alarm with your car... Why would you think you had an alarm?

I have an 06 & instructions are in manual. Says push button once. But try it both ways. Leave window down. push once and then reach inside and open door. If nothing try again pushing lock button twice. If that doesn't work try locking with key and then reach in and open door. Still nothing Call the dealer. I'm out of ideas.
