Default A thousand down? bullship or no

The other day i tried to order a TUngsten stang GT and the guy told me i had to put a thousand dollars down to order it. Is that legit? Do you always have to put money down to pre-order?

What dealer gets stuck with a GT? LOL! They really don't stay on the lot for very long.

Another member earlier this week mentioned that Ford wasn't taking any more orders for '06's and I think it's too early to order an '07.

My dealer asked me to put $1000 down and explained that when it was shipped, because money was down that they could list it as sold then. That gave them the ability to get another quicker. Maybe BS, but that way they knew I was going to get it and I ended up having them take $500 off and I had agreed to sticker and last year the other dealers were asking $2000 over..

Well you have now because i did not have to put anything down when i ordered mine.

Most however usually require at least a 500 Deposit.
