Almost lost 'er
So you would have drifted around the corner? Sorry, but trying to control oversteer on a ramp is not a good idea. TCS has personally saved me from wrapping myself around a tree in a similar situation. You may jump a little, but that jump is definitly ur wheels breaking loose, not gaining traction again. after they break loose, TCS kicks in and u stop swinging, which is the jolt u will feel, but that jolt is just the car telling you "hey, ur not gonna die now."

I think the TCS is there for a reason. I've yet to turn mine off. I like a "heavy foot" love the sound/feel. There have been instances when the rear end seems to "hop" sideways a tad, not sure what that is all about. I know I'm not getting on it too much in 1st anymore, a tire conservation thing, runs strong, even in second, and the Screaming Yellow keeps showing me a black haze on thre rear quarter panels and back end. Both a
and a [:@] feeling in one.
I'm in the SF Bay Area of California, on the SF Peninsula, and love screaming in the Santa Cruz Mountains. About a last week doing some fun, corner, running somewhere between 80 and 100 MPH, rear end side slipped on me, I'm thinking TCS may have been lending an assist when it didn't keep going.

fi you want a controlled slide TCS is the last thing you want, beause if its on and you set yourself up to have no traction, TCS can put you into a wall.. i personally have mine off right away
thats IF you want a controlled slide. But a drift is what you get when you correct for oversteer, and controlling it is the key. now, whenever you drift, you plan on a wider curve than u point the car. If you unexpectedly start to "drift" you arent very likely to just pull out, instead you will go off the outter edge of the track, or in this case, into the sound barrier at the outter edge of the road. Now, if you are TRYING to drift, you will already have accounted for these things, and then TCS would cut power, and you would regain traction and then shoot straight into the direction you are pointing, which would be right of the inside of the track, or into a wall. If you are just taking a turn too fast you want TCS, because it will keep u from going off the outside. there is no way for TCS to put you into an outter wall. because all it does is cuts power to the wheels.
unless you were drifting with the nose pointing left on a right turn! that takes some skill LOL
but yeh when it kicks in it can be a realpain if you dont wantit on. i say turn it offifyou want to have somefun turn it on when your just driving fast or whatever, it can help and hurt you.it just depends
my god algregory: 100 in a mountain turn that jus plain smart.[sm=alcoholic.gif][sm=badidea.gif]
