X-Pipe Installation Problem HELP!
I just purchased my Hooker X-Pipe it is not an O/R X-Pipe it says I must cut my stock H-Pipe 4 Inches in front of the hanger bracket althought I thought it was going to be an easy take off bolt on process which I thought it clearly stated on the site. Here is the link to the product and where I purchased it: http://www.rpmoutlet.com/05gtjbal.htm#1 please check it out, also here is the link to the installation guide which reads the information about the cutting here it is: http://www.holley.com/data/Products/.../199R10350.pdf pleae cehck that out also. Please tell me if I am forced to cut, and if so I will have to go to a shop to get that done.
PLEASE HELP, ASAP!
Thanks, nothsa

RE: X-Pipe Installation Problem HELP!
Double check your P/N, if its 16684HKR, then yup, looks like you have to cut. You CAN do this yourself, cutting exhaust isn't that hard (just takes awile if you dont have the proper tools)

Bolts-on to factory cat pipes
Simple Bolt-on (no welding)
100% Emissions Legal Upgrade
I guess that is kind of deceiving if you ask me considering the site mentions absolutely NOTHING about cutting.

RE: X-Pipe Installation Problem HELP!
Clearly you can see that this X pipe isn't exactly big enough to replace your entire mid pipe. What this setup does is changes your stock H pipe into an X pipe. Technically it is a 'bolt-on' process... All you need to do is cut off enough of the stock pipe to rid of the "H-pipe" factor, and replace it with the new pipe from Hooker, which should "bolt-on" and fit in the same hangers as the stock one. Sorry, might not be what you wanted but that's what it appears to be.
Hope this helps.

RE: X-Pipe Installation Problem HELP!
I guess it's my fault for not calling and asking those dumb***es, I don't have the tools to cut it properly and now have to pay $50 to get ripped off along with my stupid spring install $200... I obviously don't want to take a hack saw and tear the stupid H-Pipe up...
Just Super.

RE: X-Pipe Installation Problem HELP!
And I don't mean to pee on your leg and tell you it's raining, but I hope you heard a sound clip of an X pipe before you bought it. It looses alot of the muscle car sound and replaces it with more of a "tuner" (read "ricer") sound. Your car won't sound like a Civic, but it will sound closer to one that the stock H pipe.
