Default DISMAL High altitude Dyno Numbers...OUCH!

These are numbers posted on another site from another '05 GT manual owner here in Denver.

The first set of #'s is stock. The second set is with the addition of the JLT CAI, XCAL SCTII, and steeda pulleys:

(and yes it is a Mustang Dyno)

Before
Max Pwr 215.7 @4977RPM / 109.7 MPH (265.3 WCF)
Max TQE 238.9 @4164RPM / 91.8 MPH (293.6 WCF)

After
Max Pwr 227.1 @ 5283RPM / 111.2 MPH (291.8 WCF)
Max TQE 232.9 @ 4455RPM / 93.8 MPH (299.1 WCF)

After dialing her in they offered for me to run their 1/4 Mile
Wow it was a rush, running full throttle staring at a wall.
Reaction time .905
60' a pathetic 2.009
330' 6.43
1/8ml 10.11
1000' 13.13
1/4ml 15.67 Dissappointing but a blast.

notice the max torque #'s after the install of the parts drops by 6...weird huh...
But the overall WCF (which i'm guessing means something like: with correction factor:: )increases across the board

215!! MAN THAT SUCKS!

haven't done mine yet. Just ordered $1k in mods today...so I'll do a baseline then another after I install the headers and exhaust in a couple weeks.

Yeah, but think of it this way, an automatic Civic will only have 100 RWHP, you'll still kick his ricer a$$

Yep, I went to the dyno and was shocked. This altitude really makes a difference.

I will faint if I see a Civic put down 100hp to the rear wheels, now the front wheels I could see.

damn! I had no idea sea level could fluctuate our car's power that much! My car did 285 on a Dynojet with just the C&L and 89 tune from Brenspeed. Mine's an automatic and the guys at the shop were saying that the intake and tune had added about 30-35 horses. That was here in Long Island though, so that shop was pretty close to sea level. Anyone know of a website where I could just put a zip code or the name of a city and state and get at what altitude they are?

One thing you need to keep in mind about Dyno runs is that the accuracy of the numbers is usually in doubt. For example, your car might dyno at 230 HP on one dyno, then you could bring it to a different Dyno (same day, same tune, etc.) and get 255 HP....

What is more important is the difference between the two values (before and after mods) on the same dyno. For exmaple, you gained 11.4 HP from your mods. I'd imagine that this number is pretty accurate. I wouldn't put much faith in either the before or after "absoloute" number though.
