Default Windshield Damage

Well I was unfortunate enough yesterday to have a rock chip my front windshield. I heard a loud crack and didn't notice it until later that day when I was washing the car off. Has anyone else had this happen to them yet? I have SafeLite coming out to work to repair it sometime today.

Apparently our windshields are pretty easily chipped. I have a couple of stone chips and have seen a lot of similar posts. Go figure.

I am hoping to avoid this with my Mustang. That happened to me 10 minutes after driving my old car off the lot, pissed me off to no end.

1 chip. 3 days later it turned into a 3 foot crack. Still haven't priced the replacement...

I have about 8. Had one fixed this week for $45, the others are just small chips. I asked about replacing the whole thing with better glass when (not if) the thing breaks. Shop told me all the name brand stuff is pretty thin these days, even if you want to spend extra you can't really "upgrade". Maybe a business opportunity...

It's a really small chip, at the bottom of the windshield in the middle. What aggrivates me more is that the previous car I had for 4 years I never had one rock chip![:@]

On the freeway ..... sounded like a shotgun blast....big chip in lower right hand corner. Had it filled a day later and its still holdin strong. Can't really notice it unless your looking for it. Insurance should cover it completely.....

Good luck...

My windshield is covered with them. I am hesitate about replacing it because I have heard nightmare stories where they leak, make noises after replacements and so on.
