She is hurt... UPDATE - NOT!
octane and fuel are issues no matter whether you are n/a or run power adders. i have eliminated the issue by installing a snow methanol/H2O injection.this will allow me to run "lots" more timing and when i build a new shortblock this winter i'll have no fear of running 11-12:1 on the street with 93 octane gas with zero detonation. for you power adder guys you really should look into this system. birdieman could probably go into more detail about the advantages of alcohol and superchargers but from my racing experience and technical knowledge alcohol is THE best race fuel there is. i use the term race loosely because in essence what we are all building are performance combinations with high cylinder pressures. alcohol is very resistant to detonation in most circumstances even in high boost and very high compression engines.(it also cools the incoming air charge extremely well. so well in fact that aftercoolers/intercoolers are virtually not needed) it was not uncommon for me to run 36-40 degrees of timing with 15-16:1 compression in myt s/c and s/g cars. top alcohol dragsters and funny cars routinely run 30+lbs. of boost at 9000rpm with relatively high compression for boosted engines without severe detonation. i don't own stock in snow but i really like running alcohol and missed it's advantages so this is the best of both worlds i think.

Well, technically that wasn't exactly what you said...
You are right. "gospel" was a poor choice of wording. It was a figure of speech more than a literal reference.
If that is your interpretation, then fine. But that was not the intention.
And I thought that I tried to point out that you have been on the edge with your car and the things accomplished with it. I was not insinuating that you haven't. My entire point was ( and still is ) that there are a lot of people here that look up to you because of what you have done with your car. You are always willing to share information and share experiences. But when you do, there are in fact a group of people that do pretty much take what you say as golden. Take this thread as an example. It took three whole replies before someone said that they were now considering NOT buying a power adder. Gospel or not, facts are facts. You are indeed a highly reguarded and informational asset to the board. When you post, people listen. Your post saying you need to now run race fuel if you intend on having more than 400hp will certainly have an impact on peoples thinking. Do you not agree? I'm not ******* you Mark or trying to be a asshead. I'm just saying maybe posting a post that says if you intend on running 400+ hp you need race fuel is jumping the gun a bit.
And just to clarify, doesn't KB offer an 8lb kit and tune that puts out over 400? Saleen is supposed to be adding more stuff for their kits on their web site also to make them over 400.
Gosh, you know me so well. I don't think I can sleep at night if someone on a forum board on the internet has a bad opinion of me or doesn't hang on my every word.

And I was right about the line locs...lol
I said no line lock kit works on these cars and I was right, wasn't I? You have to use 2 line locs for each side and use adapters and exrtra fittings to make them work. I never said it couldn't be done, I said it had to be a custom set-up and I would bet the farm a standard kit wouldn't work and that turned out to be correct.

1. Line locks DO NOT work with these new mustangs (not yet anyway) not even the pros are using them cause there is a torque nanny that will put your computer into failsafe once you hit around 6K rpm even with T/C off.

And I highly doubt most take my advice as gospel as pointed out by some already.

I'm on these boards because, I have said before, I learn stuff all them time here too and lot's of people on these boards have helped me out with things from the simple to the complex and I am appreciative. My advice does change from time to time but that's because I (and all the pros too by the way) are learning new things and finding myth busters all the time. On many occasions, something we thought to be one way turns out to be another because we are all still in the R&D process with these cars really.

Thanks
Boy don't I feel stupid...[:@]
Starting tearing apart to see what's wrong and found nothing. Turned out the culprit was the stupid torque brace from steeda. I just bolted on for now because I wanted to see the effects before I welded permenantly and the brace bolts over the fuel lines. Turns out my fuel line was pinched in almost half and was severely cutting into it. My boost-a-pump sends a 40% fuel blast when needed under WOT and that's when I felt the hit. It was happening in third gear cause the fuel in the line was sufficient through 1st & 2nd and then when it needed more, it wasn't getting there in full load.
I learned a valuable lesson and will try to hold back a post until I'm pretty sure of the outcome. Although I feel a little stupid, I'm comforted by the fact my car is just fine...

That is great news...that your car is OK.....not that it has a pinched fuel line. Glad there wasn't a fire or anything! Keep that thing going...I want to see it in the quarter mile sometime!

That's cause for serious celebration CK! Man, it's not even my car, and I feel so relieved...
I know how that combination of "doh!/whew!" feels. You have to admit, the whew outweighs the doh.
Could you say a bit about the brace. I mean, I planned on running one, and I don't want to pinch anything. Is it a design flaw or was it just the result of a quick installation? What did you do to prevent it from happening again?
Best,
-j
