I really like the blackout panel look. Nice job '05. I think it would be great with the color combo I got on mine. Just another investment done the road. Ahhh, does it ever stop!
Thanks Sweet......black and redfire goes together very well. It does not stop...now I am looking for some SLP Loudmouths and UDPs to add. My wife is also looking for some mods for her car but they are in the area of exterior mods.

i got the silverhorse honeycomb panel also but there was a guy on here thatwas making magnetic blackout panels. he had different finishes also i celieve. i thought it was agreat idea but i had already ordered my panel preproduction. i don't find that it's any harder to keep clean than the grille. heres a pic of it installed.

I got the black vinyl magnetic one. Not happy with the quality. I cleaned the car real well before installing it but the vinyl itself shows up bumpy. I left it on for now but wouldn't do it again.

I got the magnetic one from ebay to try it out- definitely looks better, and went to order the paint today- the ppg guy has to do some checking on making up clearcoat in 60-70% gloss...they sell flat clear, but I want like 70%...dull shine, no glare, yet still waxable. I dont think paint will cost over 200, and basecoat clearcoat is extremely easy to do, holds up great. Found out on my camaro in 95(my first paintjob) that the 'flexative' stuff for the bumpers really helps clear flow out smoother, ended up using it in the final clear for the whole car- may go that route again.
blacking out tail panel/lower valence(rear)/rockers, ordered scotchcal black reflective for stripes- heres a photochop of the stripe I'm gonna try- I threw it on someone elses car- love his wheels-

(my car has the wing- stripe should line up with that, but this gives the idea anyway...)

I went for a little different look. This is my first mod. Wanted to go dual exhaust, but i have to wait a little longer for it. Tell me what ya think. It's a CDC blackout. I'm especially proud of the Tri-bar emblem. Really took no time at all to do the whole thing. At the end I was like, wow that was kinda easy...

BTW First post too.

I used the vinyl panel. I figured it's cheap enough that if I don't like it, I can remove it and do something else. The first one arrived in December. I was too impatient and tried installing it during a rainstorm. I couldn't get all of the bubles out and accidentally ripped a corner. Oh well, it ws only $24 so I ordered a new one. Installed it in Feb and had a reall tough time getting rid of all the air bubbles. I got side tracked and went back to check on it a few hours later, lo and behold, all the bubbles dissapeared as it dried. Came out perfect.

The only thiing that I do not like about the vinyl is that it scratched easily during the install and for some reason (microscratches are barely noticeable). The other problem is that it attracts a lot of dust and dirt. I guess it's the static charge on the vinyl. I keep a California Duster in the trunk now and wipe it down everytime I drive. Her's a picture:
