The other day I was browsing some web site and found a 18-24" antenna that looked much like the factory installed unit. My dumbass didn't buy it then or bookmark the site. Anyone know which I am referring to? Send a link if you do, I hate the antenna higher than the roof line, but don't want a rubber-shorty either.

 

Dunno the site but, I just ordered the billet shorty from steeda. Just another option for ya.

 

may not be what you want to do but a drimmel/grinder can cut the stock down to whatever size you want...paint the tip and you're good to go...put the $ saved towards another mod.

Did that to mine and it looks great...no reception lost in the greater Houston area or even further north.

 

Thank you. I have a friend at work with a dremel. I'll pull the stock off in the morning and have him cut it down to about 18". I'm taking the car on a long haul from Houston to Altanta in the next 3 days, but with the MP3 player, I won't have a problem with dead zones (if any) on the trip..

yea nothin like havin a bar b que squwer on your car they kinda put that little round thing on the end for a reason. carful washin the car

 

after cutting it off leave an extra 1/2 inch, remove the antenna and heat the tip with a propane torch until its red and flatten it, or round it out with a hammer...
