GTO = Grande Tourismo Osmogoto (spelling probably wrong) = Grand Touring Machine

there were all sorts of articles a couple of years ago on the origination (and rebirth) of the name of the pontiac version of the marque. Ferrari may still use it...which makes the trademark value rather questionable.....
