Throttle body broken?
As some of you might know, my car has been going into failsafe mode pretty frequently recently. Well yesterday, I finally got an engine check light with the failsafe mode and it shows a faulty throttle position sensor. I took it to the dealer today ( first time anyone in my family has taken a car to have it fixed) and the serviceman said that the throttlebody was bad and was sending inaccurate data. He said there was a TSB out for it. I have to wait now for them to order one. I don't see why they have to get a whole new throttlebody since its only the throttle position sensor that sends the information. The only thing that could be wrong with the throttlebody is with the gears that are in it. Right? Anyway, he didn't give me any trouble about the intake, but I forgot the OBDII cable for my scanner on the passenger seat. He thought that I might have used it with a tuner and adjusted the throttlebody sensor. Other than that their service was really good.
