Warning label on sun visors

RE: Warning label on sun visors
Well, I just tried it. The passenger side came off fine but left a little glue. The driver's side had 1 spot that just didn't want to come off. I kept working at it and eventually got it off but you can still see where the glue was. It doesn't look too bad, certainly not as bad as those stupid warning stickers. -Joe

mongrull006,
Get some packing tape, Clear or tan, the good stuff. Press to the hard to remove glue spots,
Heat with hair dryer, then let it cool for a few minutes, Reheat the spot but just enuff to soften
the glue, then pull gently, Repeat this process until the glue is gone. I had to do this about 4
times to get out the remaining glue, Hope this helps.

For those who left a stick mess, there's a product called "wipe away" with orange extract. Its an upholstery adhesive/stain remover. Most auto stores carry it including Walmart. Worked well on mine.
It comes in a clear bottle with a orange lable...

jbailer,
I actually know the sales engineer for the company Avery-Dennison here in Detoit who's company manufactures these lables for the mustang.
I'll send him an e-mail from work and ask the proper/best way to remove them.

jbailer,
Here is the answer from the company that makes the warning labels. Pretty much what I expected:
"
They cannot be removed. In most cases they are applied using a heat activated adhesive or molded into the plastic itself. They are made so that they cannot be removed. It cannot be removed without damaging the visor. They are mandated by the Fed. Govmt."
good luck,
