Default Shaker 500

I'm a new 06 GT owner. I've heard a few compaints about the Shaker 500 radio. Didn't think much about it until yesterday. The CD player has one CD loaded in it and when I try to either eject or play it, the display comes up on the radio that flashes "initializing". It stays on for a few second then goes back to the radio. Any one had this issue?

Has that CD been in your car with the window's up out in the sun.?? CD's and players don't like heat .. never will I don't think..?? just a guess.. I ALWAYS pull my CD's out after I get out of my car and bring them with me if I know the car is going to be outside for a LONG period of time...

just my 2 cents worth...

My car rarely sees the outside, except on the road. It is garage kept all day at work and at home as well.

The cd was in for a couple of days, but it is yet to get even warm in Ohio. Any idea how to clear the Initializing error? Short of a dealer trip?

I knwo this won't be much help to you, but I have given up on the CD player. I instaleld a toggled line out for Sirius and my iPod. I rarely use the skipper anymore.

The end result: I stopped by the dealership this morning. Based on the "Initalizing" error, the dealership ordered a new system for me. Let's hope I have a better experience with this one.

Has anyone had the CD recognition issues with the Shaker 1000 headunit?
