Want to hook up my iPod to my shaker 500
I did a search hoping to learn how to do this.
I want to hook up my ipod to my shaker 500.
I found a thread from razol saying that since there is an aux plug, just buy a PIE adapter and plug in the iPod.
Can someone tell me what this PIE adapter is and where I can get it and how much it is?
I went to Best buy, which sells iPods and they don't have anything in their computer about a piece of equipment to link your ipod to the stereo.
Thanks guys

RE: Want to hook up my iPod to my shaker 500
it still goes through the radio, but is sounds SOOO much better than all the other radio transmitter ones (iTrip, etc)
pretty much, i cannot tell the difference between the quality of that and a cd (if you downloaded the songs off the net, there will be quality loss, but that will happen no-matter how you play it, even if it was burnt to a cd)
it is what i would have expected out of Monster, the best

I plug the monster cable in the power port within the center console and have the Ipod in the cupholder. I had a glove compartment hookup in the Vette, with an Alpine HU. It was not user friendly. Monster is the way to go.

Have you even done a search on this site? Plenty of discussions already on this subject.
This is where I got mine, great service/product.

RE: Want to hook up my iPod to my shaker 500
I picked up my PIE switch from Crutchfield
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-JaoR08F...e&i=469FRD4AUX
I also have a Sirius unit in my Mustang, so I also have a Crytal-Line toggle. This creates two AUX outputs and has a very cleanly mounted switch that is flush mounted into the console around the head unit. It truly looks like it belongs there.
With this setup, it is a rare circumstance that causes me to fire up the Skipper 500.

Can those be mounted or wired into your glovebox, I really would prefer the pie adaptor to the fm transmitter and if there was someway to wire to either the glovebox or to the arm rest container where the other cigarette plug is that would be ideal.

Thanks Razol,
did you, Ford, or a car audio shop install the PIE switch?
I like Stewart's idea about putting it so you can hide the iPod in the armrest or glove box.
