Urgent Help - Won't start after stereo install !
Hello all
Need some urgent help please, I don't know what I have done but my Stang won't start now, basicly I have been trying to install a Pioneer head unit and until now all has been going well.
I had it all in place and everything was working but I tried to put the air con facia on after what I thought was a sucsessful install and now the car won't start!
When I turn the key I get a buzzing and all the display dial needles try to go the wrong way, I did get a message about checking brake system appear on my display at one point! I have taken the stereo out of line now but its not made any difference, I last turned the car over yesterday afternoon and it went fine, I just don't get what could of happened.
I am in a panic and just don't know where to turn, can anyone please help me!
Any advice much appricated!
Thank you
Stuart

Really, this aint good. You might as well call road side assistance, and have the dealer fix it. It might have something to do w/active or passive anti-theft. That's my best guess.

How much experience do you have with electronics / car audio?
Sounds like one of two things:
#1) Your 12 volt constant and perhaps your 12 switched are connected wrong or running to ground somehow.
#2) Something is being grounded out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#3) Something is being grounded out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#4-999999999) Something is being grounded out!!!!!!!!!
What steps did your do? How did you prepare your wiring harness?
How is the radio grounded? Strap or black wire?

The ticking sound he's describing and the gauges going all the way over are consistant with the dead battery syndrome. So my guess would be:
1) Spent too much time in the car with key on or dome light on during install and drained battery.
2) Freak anomoly of frequent dead battery issue, just so happens to coinside with the the install timing
3) Something is wired wrong or shorted out, thus read Steven's post
Have you tried to jump start it??

+1 on dead battery. When voltage drops low enough it will start tripping all of the ABS sensors and everything else on the car. Charge your battery.

If u get jumped off and nothing happens, then i would refer to the posts above
