Default Short Throw Shifters...Which do u like?

Well i am pondering over a few short throw shifters and i am not sure what one to get. I have always had short throws in my previous cars(STi & 95Z28), so i am definately goin to get one just not sure which to get. The ones i like are the Steeda Tri-axe and the B&M Ripper. But if any of u have other selection that u like let me know. I also want to know whats all involved in swaping in a SS because it sounds like it might be a little time consuming. Thanks

The install is actually not to difficult. I went with the Pro 5.0 6 months ago and love it. I would definately recommend giving a second look.

I have Hurst and I absolutely love it! Whatever you do DO NOT BUY STEEDA'S ss, I have heard from a few friends that are a bit** to install and they have problems when shifting.

Just my .02 cents

What all is involved in installin one? The last SS i installed only took a couple hours(1 1/2hours acutally). But i will definately take a look at the Pro 5.0

I like the 20ish dollar Saleen short-throw adapter.

I did mine in a hour on a lift. On jack stands it would take a little longer I am sure, but it was not that hard. You do not have to remove the driveshaft if you get someone to give you a hand.

I bought the Saleen short throw adapter block, also a set of urathane bushings (for the two ends of the shifter) sold by Steeda. I believe these two items together will make the stock shifter pretty good. Hope to get both installed soon.

I absolutely love the saleen adapter, I have it mated to the MGW gripper **** and it's just great. Smooth shifts, very positive feel, not a ton of effort to get it into gear -- feels like how it should have been out of the factory for me.

i was gonna go with the Hurst or Steeda also but my shop guy told me that he has been installing that little adapter from steeda and a set of polyurathane bushings into the stock shifter and it is just as good as the whole aftermarket assembly and will save you a couple hundred dollars
