Default Functional scoop help

I'm fixing to start creating a system so that a non functional scoop will be functional and I want opinions as to use a cone filter or a flat square filter with box.

Theres not much room between the hood and motor so I was thinking about fabbing up a new air tube and putting a cone filter on the end. I would create a duct from the scoop that flows air in and points toward the filter.

That said, would it be more productive to create a small plastic box much like the stock box with a square filter and have the air coming into it instead? This was my original idea, but after further studying the space below the hood I'm not sure it is possible to mount a box right under the scoop.

Any ideas guys? Thanks!

Oh and incase anyone asks, yes after I create the system I will have it professionally tuned to accomodate the changes.

Also, anyone want to speculate as to how much more of a gain is going to be seen using ram air instead of a CAI?
