QUESTION....How possible is it to actually steal a Mustang?
As I'm told each keys to each specific Mustang on the 05 and 06 are special and cannot be copied in the traditional way nor can the car be "hotwired".
Assuming this to be true, how effective do you people feel this system to be? What are some ways some thieves could bypass this?
I'm getting the money together to get myself a 2 way (paging) alarm system. Some of them come with starter kills, but if our Mustang has this passive "thingy", mabey a starter kill system would be overkill or less effective or hard to set up.
So mabey you people could shed somemore light on this subject.

Ask this question on the "I'm doin' time forum" or.... 5 -10 4 GTA. They would have all the answers to this.
Anything can be stolen, regardless of the preventatives taken.
Ya really need to ask the thieves, surely, non are present on this forum.
Sheeeeeeeeeeeesh and ppl say im stupid

RE: QUESTION....How possible is it to actually steal a Mustang?
I don't know how easy but my battery is in the trunk and after I lock all the doors, I shut the battery down and close the trunk. If they get past that then I have the glock 9 security alert system...

RE: QUESTION....How possible is it to actually steal a Mustang?
anything can be stolen any place at any time. Any security technology can be defeated, either by fancy technology or by a pair of cutting pliers and a tow truck. There is a lot of money in stolen cars and stolen parts, so since there is a will, there will always be a way.

I agree. Anything can be stolen and the simple fact is, if someone wants it bad enough your're hosed.
The key system Ford employs and either after market or Ford installed security systems including the one's with GPS tracking are a deterrent but nothing is foolproof. So for me it's a cost benefit thing. I was willing to invest a few hundred dollars for a Viper system with motion detection but that's about it. The other thing I have seen with friends who have had their rides stolen is that many times, I am not sure I would want it back after it's been torn apart by theives ripping out the sound system, wheels and whatever. So it's kind of the old 80/20 rule. For a reasonable cost you can reduce the odds of your pride and joy being ripped off, but going for 100% assuarance is costly and darn near impossible.
After all that I have a friend that says "The Club" is still the best alarm system for him. So there are lots of thoughts on this for sure.
The Glock and Mossberg thing is interesting point of view but there is a risk reward thing there as well, and it pre-supposes that you will see the theives at work. Don't know that my Mustang is a fair trade for someones life! But then that is another topic isn't it?
