I have no idea what the specs are on this car, but holy shiiiit you have to admit it looks bad ***. Ford has really started a serious retro war and the highways will soon be taken over by american retro muscle cars.

Yeah everyone is bringing back all their muscle cars. With the Mustang and Charger out now, the Camaro coming out in 09 and the Challenger shortly after, foreign cars will bow as we drive by.

 

I hadn't heard anything about a new T/A coming out. Is there a link to some new? I was pretty sure that Pontiac had said they weren't going to come out with a new Firebird, but maybe I'm behind the times.

That picture also looks like a slickly edited photoshop of a Camaro Concept to me, but I could be wrong.

 

Well, considered it 'signed' by the Artist I can only imagine it was someone who felt like using their skills, and not really something made from Pontiac... but... Firebird & Camaro's have always been the same cars more or less, so I wouldn't doubt the revival of the Firebird, if the Camaro sneaks its head into the market once more.

 

Yeah thats a photochop. You can tell from the chessy "Trans Am" written on the front bumper. Both it and the one on the side have the exact same shade and 0 lighting effects unlike the rest of the car. Sadly it's just a photoshopped camaro, but the camaro is gonna be hot anyways.

Bob Lutz has said quite a few times that they are not doing a firebird.

Actually, that is the only smart thing that GM has said in years. Not that I dont like firebirds, I just think that GM is wise in not coming out with a GTO a camaro, and a firebird, all built off the same car and expect them to all sell well, not compete with eachother, and still compete with ford and mopar.

If anything, I think that the GTO should be built a little larger, like maybe BMW 6 series size. With a little more motor than the camaro so it is still a beast. That way, it is more true to its heritige as a midsize brute and it wont compete as much with the camaro.

 

I dunno, Ford made a killing with the 05 just because of the retro look. If they get enough feed back for a Firebird, I hate to say it but money talks.....
