I had minor issues with original CD's at high volume getting a "bad disk" reading and spitting it out. I now have everything on MP3 (22 cd's) and have yet to have an issue, and (no joke) I'm very hard of hearing (too many years working in industry) so I play it loud. PS.. the hearing thing is GREAT if your married or have kids, a "huh.." and they just quit talking!

I clicked the 100% of the time as I have had NO issues with Skipping etc.

BUT my 1000 vibrates the back end like ***** Feka! [:@] And I am none too happy with the whole situation. Any tips for eliminating the MAJOR vibrations?

Cheers!

I have the Shaker 500 and play almost exclusively burned disks (both WMA and MP3) and it's only ever skipped once. The sound quality is generally quite good, but there is a very occasional (and extremely annoying) buzz in the right rear speaker. Of course, it won't do it at the dealers, just like the dash won't rattle and squeak when their techs are in the car. Oh well.

I had no problems with my Shaker 500 stereo and cd player, but I thought that the speakers were pretty sub par for being called a "Shaker". I replaced everything. Head unit, 2 amps (clarion running speakers, MTX mono block running the box), front 5x7 JL's, front 8" JL's, left the rear speakers stock for fill-in sound, and put a box in trunk with two 10" PG subs. The box is pushed all the way to the front of the trunk so I could still use the space I had left, but since the floor is slanted up there they suspended the box with brackets. It sounds MUCH better than stock, and I actually still have much more space than my 2002 GT convertible with the Mach 1000 I used to drive. I will try to some pics in here for you all if you're considering a ox but don't want to lose your entire trunk.

I know many people have experienced issues with their Shaker systems however mine has worked perfectly. I have never used anything but burned MP3 discs in it and it's never skipped a beat. Some of the blanks I use are of the super cheap variety and still no problems at all. I am very happy with the sound quality, ease of use, ect. The Shaker 500 is plenty good enough for me.

I have the Shaker 500. I never had a problem. I play burnt cds with mp3s all the time. I even have a program that you change the ID Tag that it shows the artist and album and song info on the display. It works just fine.

I have the 500 in my car .......I am not a big fan my deck has actually been replaced 5 TIMES!!!!! ....no kidding it would lock up skip like crazy no matter what cd was in it. that was about 6 months ago. This deck seems to be fine nothing has happened to it ..but having gone through all those decks sure makes you wonder about quality of them down the road

Dear God I hate the pause between songs! It seems that this system is very SLOW at reading disks compared to the MACH sytem in the 2001 GT's. The HU should be able to recognize CDA vs MP3 immediately and not spend time trying to index the track list before playing. The most irritating thing is the forced pause between tracks. Major design flaw in my opinion.

I thought that perhaps it's not a hardware problem per se but maybe finicky SW/FW, now I'm not so sure. If it was a SW problem then we'd see issues a lot more, so unless Ford's using different SW during production - it's gotta be something with the assembly (I'm guessing). Of course the lock-ups and such are definitely SW so perhaps it's a weird combination of a SW fluke and a inconsistent assembly procedure that interact in a funky way.
