Default Does anyone know the difference between..

The Ford Racing "Stinger" and the Borla "Stinger" axle back systems? I don't mean the appearance, I mean more in the construction and sound?

I've read a lot of you on hear that really like the Borlas. It appears that Borla makes the Stinger for Ford Racing, but there is about $150 difference in price, so I wanted to know if anyone knew the exact difference.

I'm looking for something that is slightly louder than stock but also a deeper sound.

I have the Borla stingers on my vette. AWESOME sounding exhaust. It will definitley be a deeper and more throatyer sound. Very light as well. On you 5 spd they would be alot of fun with.

From what I've read they are the same mufflers, just different logo on them. I went with the Borla axle backs just to be sure, kinda like the Borla logo on the mufflers a little better too.

They are the exact same muffler ... only difference is the label on the muffler.

Agree, it's just a branding thing.

I am guessing that the Ford branded pipes will be covered under warranty, if installed by the dealer.

Be carefull now. After over a year in production FRPP is messing around with suppliers. While initially they were without a doubt, rebadged Borla's the current ones are something else, they have a different look. FRPP is a name, and they know that name will sell. While a lot of FRPP products are unique, certain things are not. And as far as "covered by the dealer" it depends on the dealer. My (old) dealer was a Roush supplier. I could get anything in the world with a Jack Roush sig on it. But they made it very clear that any performance adder was not going to be covered. I got a new dealer that is really excited to see what people are doing to these cars nd has even offered some "expert" opinions.

The ones I see advertised on RPMoutlet.com seem to be the Borla type, so I don't think they changed suppliers yet. If you guys are telling me they are the same system (other than the branding on the tail pipe) Maybe I'll save the $150.00 and get the FRPPs
