Default Steeda delete plates

Just got a set used on E-bay for $200, was wondering if anyone installed these themselves?? and can I use my Predator tuner to change my A/f mixture since it will probably be running a little lean??....Thx

I would imagine that these would take a couple/few hours to install since the manifold has to come off. There was a recent article about them in 5.0 Mustangs & Super Fords magazine, which you can read here:

You will need to tune your A/F mixture. You will need to get someone to supply you with an updated tune. I would imagine that any of the major tune shops could do it.

I talked with Brent at Brenspeed about this particular mod recently. He said that it was a good HP gain up top, but it also costs you a bit down low. He told me that it was best used after your car already has lower rear-end gears in it. I know that he can tune for it, I would assume that the other top guys can also.

You must have beat me on that auction.... I decided to wait. I still want to get the car driving better and using the power I have in the corners...

Yeah, the CRCs are a lot cheaper. But, they look like they're just the OEM Ford housings that are modified and then painted black.

The Steeda ones (billet) are a lot nicer quality.

I have the Steeda's. Purchased from Brenspeed with the proper tune since i allready was useing thier CAI tune. I installed myself and it took about 2.5 hrs. Mostly due to figuring things out. I did not dyno after install but I feel pretty confident in saying that upper rpm (4500+) felt better. But i also do think I lost some bottom end torque. I ultimatley installed UDP's, put on a free flow exhaust and got a custom dyno tune. My tuner said the car was pretty flat from midrange up. I ended up with 338hp at 6250rpm. I do not believe I could have achieved this without the CMDP's. I recently had some strip time and was a bit disapointed due to I could not get the car to hook up. I spun pretty badly at every single launch. So I can not offer great times to go with these type of upgrades. I will say that last year at the track, I DID NOT ever spin, so I can only assume that I am overpowering the stock P-zero's

Ghost, I am assuming that the 338hp you are speaking of is an at the crank corrected figure?? Not RWHP.

i am assuming that it is rwhp, but on an overrated dyno. i had "322rwhp" on a dyno dynamics with only pulleys, intake, and tune. that translated directly to a 287rwhp on a mustang dyno
