Here's what it looks like on a black pony...



I like the look of flat black and gloss black together because of the subtlety. It will be a recurring theme for me. Not everyone's cup of tea for sure though.

Well, I finally caved and bought this one from Moss Mustang;

I figured for 42.00, how could you go wrong. Exceptional service from Moss Mustang. Ordered Sunday night, delivered Tuesday night, ground.

The panel fits great, but is meant to be attached with the supplied 3m. I am going to forego that, remove it, and try the "magnetic tape" thing. I would like it to be readily removable, for cleaning, mind change, etc.....

Hopefully I will get pics up this weekend following installation. Should look good on the Mineral Grey.

I like the matte black look. I already ordered a vinyl applique so I'll see how that looks when I get it. If the fit/finish isn't there I'll probably order one of these.

Please post pictures and let me know how the magnetic strips work. I have a white stang so I think that would look better than the flat black. Thanks.

So here's the results. I applied the magnetic tape over the 3M tape that comes on the panel. I also added magnetic tape on the sides, as the 3M tape is only on the top and bottom. Does it hold? Yes. Does it hold to a level that I was secure with the install? No. So, I went a step further, and added some velcro strips.


On the underside of the trunk, here is the other side of the velcro.




Bottom line, I'm very pleased with the security of the panel, the ease of removal and mind changing at will, and the end result look. I like the high gloss finish a bit better.




Total project less than 60 bucks....

WARNING -- FYI - I've had magnetic business signs in the past on other vehicles. They have a tendency to catch dirt, particularly iron filings (go drag a magnet in the gutter) which will scratch and wear through the clear coat and cause rust. Something to consider.
