Default Fueling problem

About 2 of every 3 fillups, I cannot get my fuel tank full. I end up with about 3/4 tank. The fuel nozzle acts like its full. No matter how I try to manipulate the nozzle, it shuts off. Does anybocy else have this issue?

Yep, with both the original gas tank, and the replacement tank......

When I fuel, I rotate the gas nozzle 180 degrees. Fuels fine that way....

I've had this problem once, but I had 2 people in the back seat, it might be because of the weight of your sub, just a thought

+1 I'm on tank number 2 and I still have to rotate the nozzle 180 degrees from half to full.

Default RE: Fueling problem

I think ive mentioned in the very numerous threads that mine used to click off or burp all over the place- but now its ok. just was filling yesterday and noticed although I dont have 'the problem' anymore I still for fear of the problem, do not fill like every other car Ive had-

put the nozzle in all the way, pull it back out an inch or so(keeps a gap around the rubber vacuum vapor recovery boot)
set pump handle at first click- takes a few minutes longer to fill.

I still aint a fan of getting gasoling spewed out at me, so probably wont try to fill it normally as experiment- sorry

keeping the vapor recover pulled back may not help our ozone layer or whatever the heck unburned fuel vapors do, and slow filling might be a bit inconvenient, but still- I have NEVER driven anything more fun. if ford would fix the fill/vent issue, raise the seatbelts up another inch, add seatback release so seat dontneed readjusted after kids get in/out, and add power 6 way seat on passenger side(kids cant see out), I would have no complaints at all with the car- and I tend to nit-pick everything

had the problem so bad, I couldn't put gas in it at all. My dealer wouldn't let me finish describing the problem before giving me an excuse to why it does it instead of trying to fix the problem. Good luck.

I had the same problen.Ford replaced the tank. That fixed the problem on mine but the dealer messed up the right sending unit and it set off the "SES Light"(service engine soon)now the tank fills fine but it take forever for the gauge to register a full tank on the gauge. On most cars the minute you get in and start the car the gauge shoots right to full.Mine still dost read full til even after 5miles of driving.

Ford4v429 dosnt understand that they only have "recovery boots" in a small part of this country. We dont have then in Wisconsin and the damn cars still dont fill.

raise the seatbelts up another inch, add seatback release so seat dontneed readjusted after kids get in/out, and add power 6 way seat on passenger
Agreed.

I only had the fueling issue happen to me once and it took only 3/4 tank. For some reason it never happened again.

The seatbacks annoy me but rarely does anyone sit in the back so it doesent matter too much, but I thought it was stupid that they designed it that way.

The seatbelts just need to be adjustable like other cars out there. I am 5'9" and like to sit fairly low in the car. I find the seatbelt is constantly on my neck if I dont raise the seat a bit.

While I dont have a need for the passenger power seat, it is coming with the 2007 models so maybe you can add it.
