Default questions about headers, pre-cat

ok, so my first question, is anyone else having problems with o2 sensors setting off the check engine light after installing long tube headers? it says the o2 sensors are having a delayed response.

and is this a precat that they have put in the intake tube? for people that removed them, how did you get em out? it seems glued in pretty good.

Mine throws O2 codes now too since the long tubes. I just go and turn it back off with my SCT.

it seems to be getting worse, that engine shut down due to throttle accuator came up again, and i tried to start my car and it took four tries to get it started, scared the hell outta me. i had to take it to edmonton from red deer for a course that my company couldn't give me a pickup for. i'd be stuck if it stoped working on me. i still have 3 days left.

also twice now its given me the warning beep while driving, one time no engine light came up. the first time the engine light was already up. i had my seatbelt on.

the other truble codes was "system readiness test not complete" and now i also got something OBDII serial port comm failure

i can't get my car into a dealership until saturday, if there open.

Did they install the 02 sensor extension cables, and if so are you certain that one of the four is not loose at the connector? Throttle actuator cade could be either a T/B or TPI problem that is not clearing the Spanish Oaks pre start system check, or the car is trying to go into safe mode as that is one of the codes that the car will show at safe mode. Did you have the A/F checked?? Perhaps you are running lean. If you are certain of the A/F being correct, you could shut down either the front, back, or all of the OBDII parameters. I can do that with my Diablo, and would think you could with the SCTII. If you shut off the fronts and get no codes, there is the problem, the same if you shut down just the backs. If neither of those cure the code throws, then shut down all and see if that does. If not you have another issue. That should at least help lead you to the cause.

As for the trap in the intake tube, yea, that is the one that ford stopped installing in the late 05 models. Ditch that thing.

i'll try disabling the o2 sensors then, thanks.

they did install the o2 sensor extensions, but i don't have anyway to check to make sure they are fully plugged in. i'm sure i'm running good for AF. i added a point to the fuel table to make sure i'd either be too rich or just right until i can get to a dyno.

how did you get the Trap out? just kept clipping at it with wire cutters? blew the tube out after with a air hose?

Mine was a late 05 and did not have it. I have read that people pry it out with a small screwdriver, but maybe someone who has done it can advise.
