Hoods
i really like the saleen hood, but i heard they're fiberglass and i've always been told to stay away from fiberglass bodyparts =/ So does anyone know for sure if saleen hoods coem in fiberglass or not? and if they don't where can i get one ?
Or any other hood suggestions, i'd like a hood thats somewhat functional and also has the looks, not to mention i'm trying to lose some weight here. I was looking for carbon fiber hoods for a while but i couldn't find any, so if anyone knows of some carbon fiber hoods for the 05 that would be great, i'd probably just paint overt the C/F though if i don't like the way it looks, i'm more in it for the weight reduction (every little bit counts in my opinion, as i'm doing more handling than drag)

The new CS6 hood looks awesome. The 3dcarbon boy racer hood also looks great and is functional. Cali dream hood as well. Theres alot of choices.

RE: Hoods
Almost all aftermarket hoods for the new mustangs are fiberglass.........hate to tell ya. There are a couple of CF hoods out there, but they don't offer anything THAT much lighter than your stock aluminum hood. Plus you have to deal with the worry of your CF hood tearing if it's not properly installed.
The stock hood only weighs like 25 lbs I believe......so good luck getting much weight reduction out of a new hood. There are lots of ppl riding around in S197's with aftermarket fiberglass hoods. Most pro-racers use fiberglass hoods from what I've seen.....so I don't know what your fears as far as that could be. But if you're planning on doing a hood with any kind of scoops, I'd do some hood pins just to be on the safe side.
The Saleen hood would be a good choice IMO. It is fiberglass, but it is a well designed and proven hood. I don't think you could go wrong with that. Try here:
