Trying the check my vital fluids, and i've only has this car a week, but isn't there usually a tranny dipstick under the hood? or did they relocate it to under the car?? HELP. I have a 2005 V6 mustang, of course its automatic... just really dumbfounded on this one, cannot even fing the tube.

There is no dipstick only a drain plug with a screw in the center of it to fill. When the transmission is full liquid will stop draining out the center screw hole.

On the bottom of the transmission pan. Ford made it so the average person can not change or check the fluid without carrying it to a service center. I would not touch it if I was you if you are not 100 percent sure of what you are doing.

Just so you know...

There is a level sensor in the tranmission, and it will throw a code if the fluid level ever drops below it.

Ok so they at least did part of it smart. I cannot understand why they decided to ditch the dipstick.
