Default UD Pulleys

so im considering the purchase of some pulleys. i have a CAI and tune, and want to know if there's a noticeable difference of driving/response with the pulleys. with the CAI it was night and day - pretty amazing.

also, with the install, ive seen some issues with the water pump slowing down. any way to get around this?

I did the Steeda set. A somewhat noticable gain, but not earthshattering by any means. At least with Steeda, the water pump pulley is increased in size to compensate so it still turns the same speed. No issues of any kind for the week they have been in.

Actually it's not alot of work at all. 30 minute job if you know what you're doing. 60 minutes if you don't. 5-10 hp (depending on who you believe) for 200 bucks is not a bad deal IMO. Alot better than any axleback deal or such.

I him-hoed around for a while before doing it, but I don't regret it. Easy install too.

Is there a write-up on the install for these yet?

I am going to be getting a set soon also, and that would be mighty helpful. I know that they come with directions, but a write-up from someone who has done it might have a bit of insight.

I personally think these are worth it. I installed the UDs after my CAI and tune and the performance increase in the low end was definitely noticeable.

Here are instructiond for installing on an S197.

You need to have the right tools, without them the job is next to impossible. Even with the right tools, if you don't know how to use them, you'll never get it done. Take a look at the write up and read the hints. The first time I tried it I sepnt almost 4 hours and had to give up. The seconf time, I was done in about 30 minutes.

The one thing you have to be very careful about is the alternator bolt. It will rip your belt to shreds. You will need to cut or grind the tip with a dremmel.

I noticed. In my opinion its good for another 10horsepower to the wheels. You can feel the engine pulling .

It was posted that a larger wheel is added to the water pump. That would be to take up slack. A larger wheel will make it spin slower, not faster.
