Default XM Cable

A couple of months ago I saw a few pics of an XM Radio install and noticed someone was able to run the XM Antenna behind the rear seats and hid it under the child seat buckle... thing. Lol, I don't know the exact name of it, but it is that plastic cap that you use for child safety restraints where the rear seats are. Wondering if someone could posts pics of that install again and perhaps some instructions on how they accomplished it. Or for that matter, any other clean XM Antenna installs without having the antenna noticeable.

blind1595,
The piece is called an anchor. I ran the wires down the side of the rear seat on the driver's side.
I then ran the wire up under the center console. Inside the console there is a plastic cover that
can be removed. I removed that piece and ran the wires through that hole and up through the
area of the parking brake. I used the outlet that is in the console to get my power. I had the antenna
on the rear window. I had the mount for the receiver placed in front of the brake lever.
I don't have any pics because I removed my XM because I am going to have the windows tinted and
I am going to have to rerun the wires so I can place the antenna on the windshield.
I hope this helps.

Well, mine's not on the anchor, but rather centered on the back deck;

XM Receiver is here;

Most everything is hidden under the center console. Antenna wire is run around passenger side, under door sill, next to rear seat, and up to the shown location....

Very carefully.....

Actually, I don't do a lot of channel surfing, but when I do, it comes out of the center console and rests in the cup holder, no problem. I am also hoping that Father's Day brings a Roady XT remote control, to solve this as well......

The Roady XT remote is IR. I got one when I bought my XT when XM launched in Canada. You bought the RoadyXT kit and it came with a home kit, car kit and the unit for the same price as just the unit with car kit.

I was just thinking that would be a great spot for it and I could do away with my Pro-Fit mount, but I do flip stations on a semi-regular basis so I'd need an RF remote. Unless you're talking about an RF remote and if you are, which one?

I just installed sirius in mine and i love it, I can't stand the radio anymore. took me about an hour but it's a better job than some crappy stereo place could have done, plus i got to take apart my car and really see what all it's made out of.

It's really not that obtrusive and I can see it easily. The only thing I need to find is the wire that plugs into the AUX in the back of the heat-unit because the fm tranceiver is a little crackly sometimes.

mlcrycc,

That is a very sweet set up. Does the antenna pick
up good where it is at?

No I took the rear plastic panel off on the passenger side where the speaker is, and there I found a chase that ran to the trunk, where i'm guessing the tailight and sub wires are so i used that to run through.
It was probably the easiest install I've ever done as far as running wires from front to back.

Taking the backseat out would have been pointless in this case because there is plenty of access to the trunk in a convertible. The only problem is I had to make sure the wire wouldnt get caught up in any of the mechanisms or bars for the top. All in All it was pretty simple and really anyone can do it, It's not worth the $150 they wanted for install. I definately would have kicked myself if I paid them to do something so mindless. Anyone can do it !!!
